How everything began...

Last summer i had the opportunity not only to go on the island for the first time, but go to the farthest point where highway 540 ends!! I was in Meldrum Bay, Ontario, where i got a job as park/marina attendant. I met alot of people, including many rude as well as some nice americans. I lived in a little shit box cabin with no running water. Pat and I were bunked on one side of this so called cabin, sharing a bedroom andd a bunk bed. Jeff had the other room. Jen had the front cabin, which was nicer than ours because it had the front view of the lake, and a huge living area. Jen didn't lat long as there was a flea infestation in our cabins. Our stupid so called boss gave us a can of raid hoping to fix this massive infestation, that was biting the shit out of Jen and I. I don't know if its because men stink, but they hadn't got bitten at all or very little.

I was supposed to work with Jen and Jeff at the campground, but because she left, i ended up working alone most of the summer. I still had alot of fun because i spent alot of time with the boys at the marina. The marina rocked! I got to meet many different people, including the boy scouts of america, who came from michigan and came to Meldrum Bay almost every week if the weather permitted it. The capitain was this giant Santa Clause looking guy, and he was a very joly . We also met Brandon, who was one of the leaders. He hung out with us after the kids curfiew. We got to do a few fires, but there was a fire band most of the summer which also sucked because one of my duties was to sell firewood. It was like selling ice to an eskimo! The only 2 businesses in town was the corner store/liquor store/ post office, and the Meldrum Bay Inn. I got to work for the Inn for about 3 weeks. It was te best job ever! The tips were ridicoulous for this small hamlet, and the cleaning was fine. It wasn't like the park, where i had to clean shit off the walls in the washrooms and spray the fish cleaning station. Discusting!!

The boats that we docked were amazing. The biggest one i saw was about 115 feet long. it was a powerboat, and htere were 5 big boats from a yatch club that came that day. A shit load of tips came to us that day. Ont he campground, surprisingly enough there were alot of people from my hometown(sturgeon Falls), camping there. This one camper was the size of a greyhound bus, i bet you it WAS a greyhound bus.
Thank god i was not the only girl on the island. Natasha McVey from silverwater, worked in Meldrum Bay at the Net Shed museum. It was littereally a shed! But it was nice to have a female to talk to or else i would have gone insane.
